Service Replit
Who can secure my Replit app?
Short answer
PatchAndShip moves your API keys into Replit Secrets and out of the browser. On Supabase, we also fix Row Level Security. Your app stays on Replit hosting. $149, or $249 with deploy.
The guarantee: Within 48 hours of working access or a full refund. Terms: Refund Policy.
What does PatchAndShip fix in a Replit app?
From our checklist:
- Secrets hard‑coded or committed (critical), or Replit Secrets not used.
- Secret or
service_rolekeys in the client bundle or repo. - Row Level Security disabled on tables in API‑exposed schemas (Supabase apps).
- Missing server‑side authentication or ownership checks on private routes (IDOR, open admin, open destructive methods).
- Server not reachable once published (listening only on
localhostor127.0.0.1instead of0.0.0.0, or on a port that doesn't match the.replitport settings).
Node/Express backends on Replit or Cursor are supported for the server‑side items on our checklist (items 9 to 13; fixed, but not “critical” for the 48‑hour guarantee). Full list: What we check and fix.
Where should my API keys live?
In Replit Secrets. Replit encrypts them and passes them to your app as environment variables. (Replit Docs: Secrets)
Keep server keys on the server. Replit's checklist says: Never expose API keys in frontend
. API credentials should always remain server-side
. (Replit Docs: Security checklist)
Replit docs: Multiplayer collaborators invited to a Replit project can see both the names and the values of its Secrets. (Replit Docs: Secrets) Required: on Replit, rotate every Secret after handoff. It's on the revoke checklist we send.
What changes when I publish my Replit app?
Replit says development URLs are temporary and intended for testing only
, and recommends publishing to share it. (Replit Docs: Development URLs)
A published app runs on Replit's cloud, separate from the version in the Project Editor
. (Replit Docs: Publishing)
Replit: a published web server must listen on
. Listening only on 0.0.0.0localhost or 127.0.0.1 does not work for published apps
. Secrets set in the editor do not automatically carry over to your published app.
(Replit Docs: Troubleshoot publishing)
Fix & Deploy covers this on Replit hosting: env vars on the host, custom domain with SSL, build fixes, and a smoke test of login, signup and your core flow. Replit bills you for publishing, not PatchAndShip. On Replit's free Starter plan, the one free published app expires after 30 days and has to be published again.
What if my Replit app uses Supabase?
Then Row Level Security comes first. We switch it on for every table, with policies so each user can reach only their own rows.
If RLS is off, Supabase's Security Advisor warns: Anyone with your project URL can read, edit, and delete all data in this table because Row-Level Security is not enabled.
(Supabase: Database Advisors)
Supabase: A secret key bypasses every Row Level Security policy you have. Never put one in a browser, a shipped application, or source control.
Publishable and anon keys are designed to be public. (Supabase Docs: API keys)
If your Replit app uses Replit's own Database instead of Supabase, the RLS items don't apply. We check that DATABASE_URL stays in Replit Secrets and that your data is reached only through server routes with authentication and ownership checks (checklist items 9 and 11; fixed, but not “critical” for the 48-hour guarantee).
What access does PatchAndShip need?
Least-privilege access only: collaborator access on your GitHub repo, a Supabase org invite with the lowest role your plan allows, and for Vercel a guided handoff or a scoped, expiring token. We never ask for passwords, tokens are shared only via a one-time link, and at handoff you revoke our access (we send a checklist).
For Replit, invite us to your project as an Editor (on a workspace, the lowest editing role is Guest). Collaborators can see your Secrets' names and values, so you must rotate every Secret after delivery. Removing us and rotating your Secrets are both on the revoke checklist we send.
What does it cost, and what if it isn't done in 48 hours?
Two fixed prices per app, paid once:
Security Fix
$149
- RLS fixes on all tables (Supabase apps)
- Storage bucket policies (Supabase apps)
- Key scan and rotation guidance
- Short report
Fix & Deploy
$249
- Everything in Security Fix
- Production deploy on Replit
- Env vars and auth redirects
- Custom domain and SSL
- Smoke test of key flows
Within 48 hours of working access or a full refund. The 48 hours start when PatchAndShip gets working access, and the clock pauses while we're waiting on you, for example on DNS.
Replit apps stay on Replit hosting. Moving Replit apps to Vercel or Netlify: Not offered. Each order covers one app, one Supabase project (or one Node app) and one deploy target. Apps with more than 25 user‑defined tables are declined or quoted separately. No new features. Not a penetration test or compliance certification.
Can I start with a free check?
Yes. PatchAndShip's free mini check is passive: it looks only at the public homepage, its scripts and its security headers, and nothing else. It flags exposed secret keys, missing headers and public storage links found in the code (the bucket itself is never opened or listed). No database queries, no logins, no changes. It returns a one‑page summary within 24 hours. It's for app owners, or someone the owner has authorized.
Can I fix it myself instead?
Yes. Start with Replit's Security checklist. On Supabase, also use the free Supabase RLS checklist.
What else do Replit founders ask?
Do you need my password?
No.
Can you move my Replit app to Vercel or Netlify?

Is PatchAndShip part of Replit?
No. PatchAndShip is independent and isn't affiliated with Replit.
